About Me.

Maryam has always loved story-telling and would often take turns creating stories with her little sister about flying trains, secret agents, hidden worlds under the ocean, jedi, vampires, and lots more.
Now, she enjoys making meaningful stories come alive through her illustrations. In her illustrations, she uses mixed media and will often include scanned fabric, sequins, glitter and photographs to build up layers of texture. Maryam is inspired by nature and the use of light to create atmosphere. When she is not illustrating or working on a design brief, she works with Kindergarten children and parents to provide creative learning opportunities through art, yoga, helicopter story- telling, and outdoor learning experiences.
